Dermal Filler Applications – Malar Augmentation

3/16/2026 Authors: Dr. Levent Ünal

Malar augmentation is one of the fundamental filler procedures used to restore volume and provide a lifting effect in the midface. Proper support of the cheekbones plays a critical role in maintaining a youthful, dynamic, and balanced facial appearance. Volume loss in this region can contribute to a tired, flattened, and downward-drifting facial contour.

The primary objective of malar filler treatment is to create projection without adding excessive heaviness to the face while establishing structural support that elevates and enhances the midface. Before treatment, facial proportions, skeletal anatomy, and gender-specific aesthetic characteristics should be carefully evaluated. Excessive volume placement or inappropriate projection can result in an unnatural appearance and disrupt overall facial harmony.

Within the Malar Filler Training program, participants gain detailed knowledge of malar anatomy, its relationship with other facial segments, and safe injection techniques. The course teaches practitioners how to plan filler volume within the context of the entire face and achieve a natural lifting effect. In addition, the indirect impact of malar augmentation on the nasolabial region and lower face is explored through clinical examples and case-based discussions.

The objective of the training is to develop an aesthetic perspective that prioritizes facial harmony and natural structure, enabling practitioners to achieve balanced, timeless, and natural-looking results in malar filler applications.
